How to Draw a Girl Sitting

Step 1: Big egg head

At the top of your paper, in the middle, draw a big egg head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave lots of room underneath for the knees and feet.

Step 2: Friendly face

Halfway down the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots. Add a tiny nose and a smile.

Step 3: Fringe and bob

Draw a fringe across the forehead, up over the top. Draw hair down each side to below the chin.

Tip Keep the hair close to the head so it looks neat.

Step 4: Neck and shoulders

Draw a short neck. From it draw 2 sloping shoulders and the sides of the body going down.

Step 5: Bent knees

Below the chin draw 2 tall legs side by side: round at the knee, thinner at the ankle.

Tip The knees point up because her feet are flat on the floor.

Step 6: Two shoes

Under each ankle draw a round shoe, wider than the ankle, with a flat bottom.

Tip Line the 2 shoes up side by side.

Step 7: Sitting on the floor

From behind each knee, draw a curve out and down for the hip. Draw a ground line under her.

Step 8: Hugging arms

From each shoulder draw an arm down to the elbow, then across the shin towards the middle.

Tip Each arm bends at the elbow like a wide letter L.

Step 9: Hands together

At the end of each arm draw a round hand. The 2 hands meet in the middle.

Step 10: Tan skin, pink cheeks

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, neck and hands tan around them. Leave the eyes white.

Step 11: Teal jumper

Colour the jumper and both sleeves teal, going around the hands and knees.

Step 12: Trousers and shoes

Colour the shoes purple. Colour both legs and the hips at each side navy blue.

Step 13: Black hair

Colour the fringe and the hair at each side black. Your sitting girl is done!
