How to Draw a Running Bear
Draw a running bear in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
On the left draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the heavy body.
Step 2: Small round ears
On each top corner of the head draw a small round ear with a little circle inside.
Tip The left ear is a bit smaller.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the middle of the head, a little to the left, draw 2 oval eyes with black dots.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Snout and smile
Under the eyes draw an oval snout poking out past the head. Add a black nose and a smile.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.
Step 5: Humped back
Start behind the right ear. Draw over heavy shoulders and along the back. Stop low on the rump.
Tip The shoulders are the highest part of a bear.
Step 6: Reaching front leg
Draw a ground line. From the chin draw a thick leg forward to a paw, then up to the elbow.
Tip The leg is thick at the shoulder and thinner near the paw.
Step 7: Tummy and back leg
From the elbow draw the tummy, then a back leg kicking out behind. Stop at the back line.
Tip The back leg bends backwards just above the paw.
Step 8: Far legs
Under the tummy draw 2 more legs peeking out. Their paws are lifted off the ground.
Tip Only part of each far leg shows.
Step 9: Tiny tail
On the rump draw a tiny round tail.
Step 10: Toes
Draw 2 short toe lines on each big paw and 1 on each small paw.
Step 11: Speed lines
Behind the bear draw 3 short lines, to show how fast it runs.
Tip Keep them away from the bear.
Step 12: Tan snout
Colour the snout and the middles of the ears tan.
Step 13: Brown fur
Colour the bear brown, around the snout and ear middles. Leave the eyes white.
