How to Draw a Bear
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big head.
Step 1: Big head
Near the top, draw a big head wider than tall, like a sideways egg with fat cheeks.
Tip Make it almost half of the bear. Not a perfect circle.
Step 2: Round ears
Draw a round ear top left and right, from the head back to it. Add a smaller bean inside each.
Tip Ears sit at 10 and 2 o'clock. Rub out the head line inside each ear.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes close together, with black dots and a shine.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Under the eyes draw a big wide oval, poking past the chin. Inside it, draw a black rounded triangle nose.
Tip Leave a gap between the eyes and the oval. Rub out the chin inside.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose, draw a line down, then 2 smiles out each way, stopping in the oval. Add a tongue.
Step 6: Round belly
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big pear body, widest low down, and stop under the right cheek.
Tip The body is narrower than the head. Its bottom sits where the ground will go.
Step 7: Tummy patch
On the tummy, draw a big egg from under the snout down to near the bottom.
Tip Leave a little gap under the snout.
Step 8: Arms and paws
Start under each cheek. Draw an arm down the side to a round paw on the tummy, then back up.
Tip The arm gets thinner at the wrist. Rub out the body line inside it.
Step 9: Hips and feet
Start halfway down each side. Draw a round C hip out and down to a flat loaf foot, toes out.
Tip The hip pokes out wider than the body. The foot is a long loaf.
Step 10: Toes and ground
Add 3 toe lines on each foot's end. Rule the ground from just left of the feet to just right.
Step 11: Tan snout and tummy
Colour the snout, the tummy egg and the bean in each ear tan. Colour the tongue pink.
Step 12: Brown fur
Go over your lines. Colour the head, ears, body, arms, hips and feet brown, around the tan parts.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
