How to Draw a Chibi Lion

Step 1: Face and ears

Near the top draw a big round face, wider than tall. Add a small round ear on each top corner.

Tip Leave room all round for the mane.

Step 2: Fluffy mane

Start at one ear. Draw soft bumps round under the face to the other ear. Add 3 on top.

Tip Keep the bumps the same size, like a fluffy cloud.

Step 3: Huge shiny eyes

Halfway down the face draw 2 huge oval eyes. In each add a ring, a black dot and 2 shines.

Tip Leave the shines white so the eyes sparkle.

Step 4: Inside the ears

Inside each ear draw a small curve. Start on the face, go up and round, and stop on the face.

Step 5: Nose and smile

Between the eyes, a little lower, colour a small black nose. Draw a W smile under it.

Tip The middle of the W touches the nose.

Step 6: Tiny body

Start under the mane on the left. Draw a small tub body down, along the bottom and up.

Tip The body is much smaller than the head.

Step 7: Front legs

From under the mane draw 2 short legs down to round paws. Add 2 toe lines on each paw.

Tip Each leg gets a little wider at the paw.

Step 8: Back paws

Beside each front leg draw a low bun paw, tucked behind it. Add 2 toe lines on each.

Tip Rub out the body line inside each bun.

Step 9: Tufted tail

Start on the right side of the body. Draw a thin tail curling up. Stop at a teardrop tuft.

Step 10: Ground line

Under the paws draw a flat ground line, from the left to the right.

Step 11: Pink cheeks

Colour a small pink oval on each cheek. Colour inside the ears pink too.

Step 12: Yellow fur

Colour the face, ears, body, legs and tail yellow, around the pink. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Brown mane

Colour the fluffy mane, the tail tuft and the rings in the eyes brown. Your chibi lion is done!
