How to Draw a Bloodhound
Draw a bloodhound in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big oval, a little wider than tall. It is half the dog.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Extra-long ears
Start at the top left of the head. Draw a long floppy ear down past the chest, back to it.
Step 3: Eyes and bags
Halfway down the head, draw 2 big eyes with black dots. Add a sagging bag under each.
Tip Saggy eye bags are the bloodhound look.
Step 4: Big snout and nose
Under the eyes, draw a big wide oval snout with a black triangle nose at the top.
Step 5: Smile and wrinkle
From the nose, draw a line down, ending in a w smile. Hang a small tongue. Add a forehead wrinkle.
Step 6: The body
Start where each ear touches the cheek. Draw a big C down, stopping near the bottom. Join the ends.
Tip The body is a bit wider than the head.
Step 7: The chest
Start under the left cheek. Draw a big U down the chest, back up to stop under the right cheek.
Step 8: Long front legs
From the chest, draw 2 front legs, narrower above round paws, back to the chest. Add 2 toe lines each.
Step 9: Back paws and tail
Draw a hill paw at each bottom corner. From the right side, draw a curved tail down to the ground.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a long ground line across under all 4 paws.
Step 11: Tan head and legs
Colour the head, snout, legs, paws, chest and tail with a tan crayon. Keep the eyes white.
Step 12: Pink tongue
Colour the tongue pink.
Step 13: Brown back and ears
Colour the sides of the body brown, around the tan chest. Colour the 2 long ears brown.
