How to Draw a Sheep Running
Draw a sheep running in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: sloping head.
Step 1: Sloping head
On the left draw a long sloping head, wide and round at the top, narrower at the nose.
Tip The nose points down to the left.
Step 2: Eye and smile
Draw 1 big oval eye with a black dot. Add a tiny nose dot and a curved smile.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in the eye.
Step 3: Woolly cap
On top of the head draw a fluffy cloud of wool. Rub out the head line inside it.
Tip The cap sits on the back of the head, above the eye.
Step 4: Two ears
Draw 1 leaf ear sticking out behind the eye, and 1 peeking out in front of the wool.
Tip Rub out the bit of head line inside the back ear.
Step 5: Fluffy body
Start behind the head. Draw a big cloud of wool with bumps all round, back to the head.
Tip Make the cloud longer than it is tall.
Step 6: Front legs
From under the wool draw 2 thin legs reaching forward. Each has a bent knee and a small hoof.
Tip Each leg is 2 straight parts. The knee is the corner between them.
Step 7: Back legs
Draw 2 thin back legs stretching out behind. Each has a bent corner pointing back and a small hoof.
Tip One back hoof pushes off the ground. The other is up in the air.
Step 8: Short tail
At the back of the wool draw a short round tail, like a small bump.
Tip Keep it much shorter than an ear.
Step 9: Ground and speed
Draw a ground line under the lowest hoof. Add 3 short speed lines behind the sheep.
Tip Speed lines show the sheep is running fast.
Step 10: Cream wool
Colour the wool on the body, the cap on the head and the tail cream.
Step 11: Light grey face
Colour the face and both ears light grey. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Dark legs
Colour all 4 legs dark grey. Then colour the 4 small hooves black.
