How to Draw a Valentine Monkey

Step 1: Big round head

Near the top, draw a big round head, a little wider than tall, with full cheeks.

Tip Leave room on each side for the ears.

Step 2: Two round ears

On each side of the head, draw a big round ear. Draw a smaller C inside each one.

Tip Each ear starts and stops on the head line.

Step 3: Face patch and eyes

Inside the head, draw a wide face patch with 2 bumps on top. Put a big eye under each bump.

Tip Add a black dot and a white shine in each eye.

Step 4: Nose and smile

Under the eyes, colour a small oval nose. Start below the left eye and curve a smile to the right.

Step 5: Sitting body

From under each cheek, curve a line down to the ground. Join them along the bottom.

Tip The body is a little narrower than the head.

Step 6: One big heart

On the tummy, draw 1 big heart: 2 round bumps on top and a point at the bottom.

Tip The heart is nearly as wide as the body.

Step 7: Bent arms

From under each cheek, draw an arm bending out at the elbow and back in beside the heart.

Tip Fat at the shoulder, thinner at the wrist. Rub out the body line inside each arm.

Step 8: Mitten hands

At the end of each arm, draw a round mitten hand holding the heart's edge. Add 2 finger lines.

Tip Rub out the arm and heart lines inside each hand.

Step 9: Two feet

At each bottom corner of the body, draw a bun foot on the ground with 2 toe lines.

Tip Rub out the body line inside each foot.

Step 10: Curly tail

From the right hip, draw a long tail sweeping out, up and round into a curl, thin at the tip.

Step 11: The ground

Draw a long ground line under the 2 feet.

Step 12: Tan face and hands

Colour the face patch, the ear middles, the 2 hands and the 2 feet tan. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Red heart

Colour the big heart red, around the 2 hands.

Step 14: Brown fur

Colour the head, ears, body, arms and tail brown, around the tan parts and the heart.
