How to Draw a Nudibranch
Draw a nudibranch in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Low on the left of your paper draw a soft egg standing up for the head. Leave the right empty.
Step 2: Eyes and smile
In the upper middle of the head draw 2 big eyes with black dots and shines. Add a smile below.
Step 3: Two club horns
On top of the head draw 2 horns like little clubs: thin at the bottom, a round knob on top.
Tip These horns are smell-feelers, not eyes. One leans forward, one leans back.
Step 4: The long body
Start on the back of the head. Draw a long soft hump, curving down to a round tail tip.
Step 5: Frilly skirt
Start at the round tail tip. Draw a row of little bumps along the bottom and stop at the head.
Step 6: Flower on the back
Near the tail draw 5 round-tipped petals fanning up. Each petal starts and ends on the back line.
Tip Nudibranchs breathe through this feathery flower.
Step 7: The seabed
Draw a straight seabed line under the skirt, from the head right across to the tail.
Step 8: Orange and pink
Colour the 5 petals orange and dab 5 orange spots on the body. Dab a pink cheek under each eye.
Step 9: Purple head and horns
Go over your lines. Colour the head and both horns purple, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Purple body
Colour the long body purple, around the spots, right down to the frilly skirt. Your nudibranch is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a nudibranch, drawn by you.
