How to Draw a Kawaii Elephant

Draw a kawaii elephant in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.

Step 1: Wide head
Near the top, draw a big wide head with a flat top and round cheeks.
Tip Make the head wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Big round ears
On each side, draw a huge round ear tucked behind the head. Add a smaller round shape inside.
Tip Each ear is nearly as tall as the head.
Step 3: Curled trunk
In the middle of the face, draw a fat trunk hanging down. Curl its round tip up to the right.
Tip The trunk gets a little thinner towards the tip.
Step 4: Sparkly eyes
Beside the trunk, draw 2 tall oval eyes. Colour them black, leaving 2 white shines in each.
Step 5: Tiny smile
Start on each side of the trunk. Draw a tiny curve out and up, and stop under the eye.
Step 6: Round body
Start under each cheek. Draw a curve bowing out and down, and stop a thumb below the trunk.
Tip Keep the body narrower than the head.
Step 7: Front legs
From each body line, draw a stubby leg down to a flat foot, then up to meet in the middle.
Tip Make each foot a little wider than the leg above it.
Step 8: Back legs
Start on each side of the body. Draw a round leg peeking out behind, down to a flat foot.
Tip Count the legs: an elephant has 4.
Step 9: Tufted tail
Start on the right back leg. Draw a thin tail curving out and down to a small tuft.
Tip The tuft hangs above the ground.
Step 10: Toenails
On each front foot, draw 3 little toenail bumps. Draw 2 on each back foot.
Step 11: Ground line
Start at the left. Draw a ground line under the feet. Stop at the right.
Step 12: Pink and cream
Colour the inside of each ear pink. Add a pink oval on each cheek. Colour the toenails cream.
Step 13: Grey elephant
Colour the head, ears, trunk, body, legs and tail grey, around the pink and cream parts.
