How to Draw a Chibi Graduate

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a chibi graduate in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Above the middle of the page, draw a big wide egg for the head. Leave room for a cap.

Tip A chibi head is bigger than the whole body.

  2. Step 2: Huge eyes

In the lower half of the head, draw 2 tall oval eyes. Add a ring, a pupil and 2 shines.

Tip Leave a gap one eye wide between the eyes.

  3. Step 3: Happy smile

Start under the left eye and draw a wide U smile. Stop under the right eye.

Tip Keep the smile small and low, close to the chin.

  4. Step 4: Cap edge and fringe

Draw a curve across the forehead, edge to edge. Start a wavy fringe on one cheek, stop on the other.

  5. Step 5: Flat cap board

On top of the head draw a wide flat diamond, wider than the head. Add a button in its middle.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the diamond.

  6. Step 6: One tassel

Start at the button. Draw a cord to the right point, then down. Stop at a small tassel.

Tip The tassel hangs beside the head and does not touch it.

  7. Step 7: Bell gown

Under the chin draw a gown shaped like a bell, wide at the hem. Add a V under the chin.

Tip Start the V on the chin and stop on the chin.

  8. Step 8: Sleeves and hands

From each shoulder draw a wide sleeve out, round the elbow and down. Stop on the gown. Add 2 hands.

Tip Each hand is a round mitten with a little thumb.

  9. Step 9: Rolled diploma

In the left hand draw a rolled diploma pointing up and out. Add 2 ribbon lines from edge to edge.

Tip The diploma is a long thin tube with a round end.

  10. Step 10: Shoes and floor

Draw 2 round shoes peeking under the gown. Start a floor line at the left, stop at the right.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face around them and both hands peach. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Yellow and red

Colour the tassel and the button yellow. Colour the ribbon red. The diploma stays white.

  13. Step 13: Brown hair

Colour the hair, the eye rings and the 2 shoes brown.

  14. Step 14: Blue gown and cap

Colour the gown, sleeves, cap and board blue, around the button. Your chibi graduate is done!
