How to Draw a Sleeping Person
Draw a sleeping person in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Seen from above: the head goes near the top, the blanket fills the page.
Step 2: Sleeping face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 closed eyes, like little smiles. Add a tiny nose and a smile.
Step 3: Soft hair cap
Start on the left of the head. Draw a row of soft tufts over the top, stop on the right.
Step 4: Pillow
Behind the head draw a big soft pillow, poking out above the head and at both sides.
Step 5: Headboard
Behind the top of the pillow draw the headboard, a long bar with rounded ends, wider than the pillow.
Step 6: Sheet and blanket
Start under the headboard. Draw a line down each side of the pillow, stop below it. Add a blanket box.
Tip The blanket is a big tall box from below the pillow to near the bottom.
Step 7: Hands on the blanket
Start on the blanket's top line. Draw a mitten hand hanging down, stop back on it. Do each side.
Step 8: Stripes
Across the blanket draw 3 thin stripes, each 2 lines close together, from side to side.
Step 9: Zzz
Right of the head, outside the bed, draw 3 letter Zs floating up and away, each a little bigger.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face and the hands peach, with a pink circle on each cheek.
Step 11: Blue blanket, white sheet
Colour the blanket blue, leaving the stripes white, and leave the sheet and the pillow white.
Step 12: Brown headboard and hair
Colour the headboard and the hair brown. Your sleeping person is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a sleeping person, drawn by you.
