How to Draw a Kid Walking
Draw a kid walking in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
On the right half of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, a tiny nose and a smile.
Tip The face sits to the right because the kid is walking that way.
Step 3: Short hair
Start above the right eye. Draw hair over the top and down the back, then a fringe line back.
Step 4: Neck and body
Draw a short neck. Under it draw a narrow bean body with a round chest and a flat bottom.
Tip From the side a body is narrower than the head.
Step 5: Shorts
Under the body draw shorts that get wider at the bottom, with a small dip in the bottom edge.
Step 6: Front leg
From the front of the shorts draw a leg stepping forward, bending a little at the knee.
Tip Legs are wide at the top and thin at the ankle.
Step 7: Back leg
From the back of the shorts draw a leg stretching back behind the front leg.
Step 8: Shoes
Draw a shoe on the front foot with its toe lifted. Tip the back shoe onto its toe.
Step 9: Ground line
Draw a long ground line under the front heel and the back toe.
Step 10: Back-swing arm
From the shoulder draw an arm swinging back to a mitten hand. Rub out the body line inside it.
Tip Bend the arm a little at the elbow, and give the mitten a thumb.
Step 11: Front-swing arm
Draw the other arm peeking forward from behind the chest. Add a sleeve line across the first arm.
Tip When a leg steps forward, the arm on that side swings back.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheek
Colour a pink cheek. Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Green top, red shoes
Colour the T-shirt and its sleeve green. Colour both shoes red.
Step 14: Navy shorts, brown hair
Colour the shorts navy and the hair brown. Your walking kid is done!
