How to Draw a Scout

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a scout in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

  2. Step 2: The face

Draw 2 round eyes with a black dot and a white shine, a small U nose and a smile.

  3. Step 3: Ears

On each side of the head draw a C ear, starting and ending on the head line.

  4. Step 4: Scout cap

Draw the cap hugging the top of the head, with a curve across the forehead. Add a visor under it.

  5. Step 5: Neck, shirt and neckerchief

Draw 2 neck lines. From one, draw a shirt with short sleeves over to the other. Add a triangle neckerchief.

  6. Step 6: Badge sash

From the right shoulder draw 2 lines slanting down to the bottom of the shirt. Add 3 round badges.

  7. Step 7: Arms

From under each sleeve draw 2 lines down to the wrist, a little closer together at the bottom.

  8. Step 8: Mitten hands

At each wrist draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in, starting and stopping on the arm lines.

  9. Step 9: Shorts and legs

Start at the shirt's left corner. Draw shorts down and up to the right corner. Add a leg under each.

  10. Step 10: Shoes and ground

Under each leg draw a shoe with a round toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, with a pink cheek each side. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Tan shirt, red neckerchief

Colour the shirt tan around the sash, the shorts tan and the neckerchief red.

  13. Step 13: Green cap and sash

Go over your lines. Colour the cap and sash green, leaving the badges white, and the shoes brown.
