How to Draw a Sitting Camel
Draw a sitting camel in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top left, draw a tall soft egg for the head. Leave lots of room on the right.
Step 2: Small ears
On each top corner of the head, draw a small leaf ear with a smaller leaf inside.
Step 3: Eyes and lashes
Above the middle of the head, draw 2 oval eyes with black dots. Add 2 lashes on each.
Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.
Step 4: Droopy snout
Draw a wide snout low on the left, with 2 nostrils. From between them, draw down to a smile.
Step 5: Neck and hump
Start on the right of the head. Draw the neck down, climb one big hump and slope down. Stop halfway.
Tip A camel with one hump is called a dromedary.
Step 6: Front of neck
Draw a ground line. From under the chin, draw the front of the neck and chest down to it.
Step 7: Folded front leg
From the chest, draw a leg forward to a round knee, then folded back along the ground to a foot.
Tip A resting camel tucks its legs under its body.
Step 8: Folded back leg
From the end of the back, draw a big round thigh, then a leg along the ground to a foot.
Step 9: Far legs
Draw a second knee peeking out at the front, and a second foot peeking out beside the back foot.
Step 10: Tail and toes
Draw a thin tail curving down from the rump, with a leaf tuft. Add one toe line on each foot.
Step 11: Sand and peach
Colour the snout sand and the inside of each ear peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Colour it tan
Colour the camel tan, around the snout and ear insides. Leave the 3 feet and the tuft white.
Step 13: Brown feet
Colour the 3 feet and the tail tuft brown. Your sitting camel is done!
