How to Draw a Sleeping Arctic Fox
Draw a sleeping Arctic fox in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fluffy head.
Step 1: Fluffy head
On the left draw a wide fluffy head: flat on top, with round cheeks and a small chin.
Tip Lean the head a little, as if it is resting. Leave room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Pointed ears
On top of the head draw 2 pointed ears with soft tips. Draw a line across each ear tip.
Step 3: Sleeping eyes
Halfway down the head draw 2 closed eyes, each a U shape like a little smile.
Tip Closed eyes show that the fox is fast asleep.
Step 4: Snout and nose
Over the chin draw a wide oval snout. Inside it, near the top, draw a small round nose.
Tip Rub out the chin line inside the snout.
Step 5: Round back
Start beside the right ear. Draw a big round back over to the right and stop low down.
Tip The fox is curled up like a ball.
Step 6: Folded back leg
Start low on the back. Draw a big C curve and stop lower down. Add a foot with 2 toes.
Tip Draw the foot over the end of the C. Rub out the line inside the foot.
Step 7: Big bushy tail
From the back's end sweep a fat tail left under the chin, round its tip and back to the leg.
Tip The snout rests on the tail. Rub out the lines inside the tail.
Step 8: Front paw
Start on the tail beside the chin. Draw a round paw, stop on the tail and add 2 toes.
Step 9: Snow line
From the left edge draw a snow line to the tail. Add one from the back to the right edge.
Tip The fox lies in a soft dip in the snow.
Step 10: Snowflakes
Above the fox draw 4 snowflakes. Each one is 3 short lines crossing in the middle.
Step 11: Pale blue snow
Colour the snow pale blue under the snow lines. Leave the fox and the sky white.
Step 12: Cream and pink
Colour the snout cream, around the nose. Colour 2 small pink cheeks under the eyes.
Step 13: Grey and black
Colour the 2 ear tips grey and the nose black.
