How to Draw a Baby Buffalo
Draw a baby buffalo in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big low head.
Step 1: Big low head
On the left, halfway down, draw a big rounded head tipping down. Make the snout end smaller.
Tip Leave room above and to the right for the body.
Step 2: Snout and eye
Draw a curved line across the snout end. Add a nostril, a smile and 1 big eye.
Tip Keep the eye near the middle of the head.
Step 3: Horn buds and ears
On the head draw 2 tiny horn buds. Behind them draw 2 leaf ears, one with a line inside.
Tip A baby's horns are only little bumps.
Step 4: Humped back
Start behind the head. Draw up over a small hump, slope down the back, round the bottom and stop.
Tip The hump sits over the shoulders, higher than the bottom.
Step 5: Front leg
Draw a ground line. From under the head draw a slim leg, down to the line and back up.
Tip Give the front of the leg a small knee bump halfway down.
Step 6: Tummy and back leg
From the front leg draw the tummy. Add a back leg that bends halfway down. Finish at the back line.
Tip The back leg is wide at the top and slim near the hoof.
Step 7: Far legs
Draw 2 more legs peeking from behind the tummy, with a gap beside each one. Count 4 legs.
Tip Leave paper between the legs so you can count them.
Step 8: Four hooves
Draw a short line across the bottom of each leg for 4 hooves. Add a split line in each.
Tip Each leg stands on its own hoof.
Step 9: Tufted tail
On the round bottom, draw a short thin tail hanging down. Add a leaf-shaped tuft on its end.
Step 10: Cream and peach
Colour the snout and the 2 horn buds cream. Colour the ear under its line peach.
Step 11: Reddish-brown coat
Colour the head, ears, body, tail and all 4 legs a light reddish brown. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Brown and grey
Colour the tail tuft brown and the 4 hooves dark grey. Your baby buffalo is done!
