How to Draw a Colugo
Draw a colugo in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip The colugo is gliding straight toward you, so you see its face.
Step 2: Small ears
On each top corner of the head draw a small round ear leaning out, with a smaller oval inside.
Step 3: Eyes, nose and smile
In the middle of the head draw 2 HUGE eyes with black dots. Add a triangle nose and a smile.
Tip Colugos have enormous eyes for seeing at night.
Step 4: The body
Under the chin draw a long egg body hanging straight down, a little wider at the bottom.
Step 5: Arms out wide
From each shoulder draw an arm that gets thinner, up and out to an oval paw with 2 toe lines.
Step 6: Legs out wide
From each hip draw a leg that gets thinner, down and out to an oval paw with 2 toe lines.
Step 7: The tail
From the bottom of the body draw a short tail straight down, getting thinner to a round tip.
Step 8: The kite of skin
On each side join cheek to front paw to back paw. Join back paws to a point under the tail.
Tip Skin stretches from its neck to its tail, so it glides like a kite.
Step 9: Two trees
Up each edge of the paper draw a tall tree trunk with a round leafy top.
Tip Colugos glide from tree to tree.
Step 10: Peach paws and ears
Colour the 4 paws and the inside of the ears peach.
Step 11: Grey kite, brown fur
Colour the kite light grey and all the fur brown, around the peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Wood trunks, leafy tops
Colour the 2 trunks wood brown and their leafy tops green. Your colugo is done!
