How to Draw a Buffalo
Draw a buffalo in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big low head.
Step 1: Big low head
Draw a big rounded square head low on the left. Leave room on the right for a big hump.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes with shines. Under them, draw a big egg nose with 2 nostrils and a smile.
Step 3: Shaggy hair
Across the top of the head, draw a mop of round fluffy bumps, hanging a little past each side.
Step 4: Horns and ears
From each side of the hair, draw a short horn curving up. Add a small leaf ear below each.
Step 5: Shaggy beard
Under the nose, draw a shaggy beard of 4 fluffy round tufts.
Step 6: Big hump
Start behind the head. Go over a big hump, round the bottom and along the tummy back to the head.
Tip The hump is the tallest part, much higher than the head.
Step 7: Shaggy front
Start on the back behind the hump. Draw a wavy line of fur bumps down to the tummy.
Step 8: Two legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest, draw a short leg down to a hoof. Add a back leg.
Step 9: Far legs
Behind each leg, draw a thinner leg peeking out, down to a hoof on the ground.
Step 10: The tail
Start at the top of the back end. Draw a thin tail hanging down to a fluffy tuft.
Step 11: Grey and peach
Colour the horns and the hooves grey. Colour the ear insides peach.
Step 12: Tan back half
Colour the nose, the back half of the body, the back legs and the tail tan.
Step 13: Colour it brown
Colour the head, hair, ears, beard, shaggy front, front legs and tuft brown around them. Leave the eyes white.
