How to Draw a Buffalo Head
Draw a buffalo head in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Draw a big head in the middle of the page: a rounded top, wide cheeks and a broad chin.
Tip Leave room on each side and on top for the huge horns.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
Across the middle of the head draw 2 big oval eyes, with a black dot and white speck in each.
Step 3: Nose line and smile
Start on the left edge under the eyes. Draw a line bowing up, and stop on the right edge.
Tip Add 2 oval nostrils and a wide smile under the line.
Step 4: The horn base
Across the top of the head draw a thick curved band like a helmet, from side to side.
Tip Rub out the head line inside it. Both horns grow out of this.
Step 5: 2 huge horns
From each end of the base draw a huge thick horn sweeping out, drooping down, then hooking up.
Tip Rub out the line where each horn joins the band. Add 2 rings near each horn's base.
Step 6: Droopy ears
Under each horn tip draw a leaf-shaped ear drooping down and out, with a smaller leaf inside.
Step 7: Stone horns
Go over your lines, then colour the horns and the horn base stone grey.
Step 8: Rosy cheeks, peach ears
Draw a little oval blush on each cheek, near the ear. Colour it pink and the ear insides peach.
Step 9: Slate fur
Above the nose line, colour the head and ears slate grey, around the pink and peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Brown muzzle
Colour the face below the nose line dark brown. Your buffalo head is done!
