How to Draw a Zookeeper

Step 1: Head and ears

Draw an egg head near the top. Add a C ear on each side, starting and stopping on the head.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 round eyes with a dot and a shine, a U nose and a smile.

Step 3: Ranger hat

Draw a flat brim above the eyes, then a tall dome from the brim back to it, with a band.

Tip The brim is wide and flat like a plate, far past the head.

Step 4: Neck and shirt

Draw 2 neck lines, then a shirt from one back to the other. Add a collar, 2 pockets, 3 buttons.

Tip The pockets sit high on the chest, a gap from the buttons.

Step 5: Arms

From each sleeve draw an arm down to the wrist, bending a little at the elbow and getting thinner.

Step 6: Mitten hands

Start on the wrist and draw a round mitten with a thumb bump pointing in. Stop on the wrist.

Step 7: Shorts and belt

Under the shirt draw short shorts, pointed between the legs. Add a thin belt across the top with a buckle.

Step 8: Two legs

Start on the shorts. Draw each leg down, thinner at the bottom, across, then back up to the shorts.

Step 9: Boots and ground

Under each leg draw a tall boot with the toe pointing out. Add a ground line below.

Step 10: A bucket

Under the left hand draw an arch handle, an oval rim, 2 sides down to the ground and a band.

Tip The bucket stands on the ground, a little gap from the boot.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the cheeks pink, then the face, ears, neck, arms, hands and legs peach, around the cheeks.

Tip Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Sand hat, green shorts

Colour the hat sand, around the band, and the shirt sand. Colour the shorts green.

Step 13: Brown boots, grey bucket

Go over your lines. Colour the belt, hat band and boots brown, and the bucket slate grey.
