How to Draw a Zebra Longwing
Draw a zebra longwing in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
A bit above the middle draw a big soft egg head, a little wider than tall. Leave room for wings.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
Below the middle of the head draw 2 big eggy eyes, a finger apart. Add a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile, stop under the right eye. Add 2 round cheeks.
Step 4: The body
Start under the left of the head. Draw a chest bump and a plump teardrop tummy, stop under the right.
Step 5: 3 stripes
Across the tummy draw 3 little smile curves. Start each on the left edge, stop on the right edge.
Step 6: Long top wings
Start on the left of the chest. Draw a long wing out, round the tip, stop on the tummy. Repeat.
Tip The top wings are much longer than the body.
Step 7: Small bottom wings
From halfway along the top wing's bottom edge, draw a smaller round wing down and out to the tummy. Repeat.
Step 8: Long curly antennae
Start on the head, left of the top. Draw a lazy S up and out, stop with a ball. Repeat.
Step 9: Long stripes
On each top wing draw 2 long skinny leaf stripes toward the tip. Add 1 on each bottom wing.
Tip Stripes never touch the body or the wing edges.
Step 10: Yellow stripes, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the wing stripes yellow and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey body, black wings
Colour the head and body dark grey around the face, then the wings and balls black around the stripes.
