How to Draw a Worm
Draw a worm in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the top left of your paper, draw a sideways egg for the head. Leave room for the long body.
Tip A worm is mostly body, so the head sits up in a corner.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big egg eyes with a big black dot in each.
Step 3: A wide smile
Under the eyes, draw a wide smile: a flat line with a U under it.
Step 4: Long wiggly body
From the chin, draw a fat wiggly tube body swinging right, then down, then back left to a round tail.
Tip Make the tube a bit wider than the smile.
Step 5: Body rings
Across the body, draw 6 little curved lines, evenly spaced from the head down to the tail.
Tip The rings are the worm's segments.
Step 6: The dirt
Under the worm, start at the left edge. Draw a soft bumpy dirt line across to the right edge.
Step 7: A grass tuft
Near the left end of the dirt line, draw 3 short grass blades growing up and fanning out.
Step 8: Cheeks and mouth
Go over your lines. Colour 2 small peach cheeks under the eyes and the open mouth red.
Step 9: Pink worm
Colour the head and the whole body pink, around the eyes, mouth and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Brown dirt
Colour the space under the dirt line brown.
