How to Draw Yakitori
Draw yakitori in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a long platter.
Step 1: A long platter
In the middle of your paper draw a long flat box with soft corners, for a narrow platter.
Tip Yakitori are little grilled chicken skewers, served side by side on a long plate.
Step 2: The rim
Draw a second box a finger inside it, all the way round, for the rim.
Step 3: The middle skewer
Across the middle of the platter draw a long thin stick, from near the left rim to near the right.
Step 4: Chunks on it
Along the stick draw 4 soft, square-ish chicken chunks with gaps between, and a leek block second from the left.
Step 5: A shorter skewer above
Above it draw a shorter stick, from the left rim to past the middle, with 3 chunks and a leek.
Step 6: A short skewer below
Below the middle one draw the shortest stick, left rim to middle, with 2 chunks and a leek between them.
Step 7: Sauce cup
Bottom right draw a tiny cup, an oval with a U under it from one end to the other.
Step 8: The sauce
Inside the cup draw a smaller oval near the top, for the sauce.
Step 9: Golden chicken
Go over your lines, then colour the chicken chunks ginger.
Step 10: Green leek, wood sticks
Colour the leek blocks green and the skewers wood brown.
Step 11: Brown sauce, white cup
Colour the sauce brown and leave the cup white.
Step 12: Navy platter
Colour the platter navy, leaving the inside of the rim white.
