How to Draw a Wrestling Mat
Draw a wrestling mat in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mat top.
Step 1: The mat top
Draw a big shape with 4 straight sides: a long front edge, a shorter back edge and 2 slanting sides.
Tip It is a square mat lying flat, so the far edge looks shorter.
Step 2: The thick edge
From each front corner draw a short line straight down. Join the 2 ends with one long line.
Tip A wrestling mat is thick and soft, like a giant cushion.
Step 3: The floor
From each bottom corner of the mat draw a short floor line going out sideways.
Tip Now the mat is lying on the floor, not floating.
Step 4: The big circle
On top of the mat draw one big wide oval. Leave a gap between it and every edge.
Tip A circle lying flat on the floor looks like an oval.
Step 5: The ring
Just inside the big oval draw a second oval, a finger's width in all the way round.
Tip Keep the 2 ovals the same distance apart on both sides.
Step 6: The centre circle
Right in the middle of the mat draw a small oval. This is where the 2 wrestlers start.
Step 7: Yellow middle
Go over your lines. Colour the whole middle oval yellow, right across the small centre circle.
Step 8: Red ring
Colour the ring between the 2 big ovals red, all the way round.
Step 9: Blue mat
Colour the rest of the mat top blue, around the red ring and out to every edge.
Step 10: Dark blue edge
Colour the thick front edge dark blue. Your wrestling mat is ready for a match!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a wrestling mat, drawn by you.
