How to Draw an Eye Patch

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an eye patch in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the patch.

Print

  1. Step 1: The patch

A little low in the middle, draw a big rounded patch, wider than tall and narrower at the bottom.

Tip Leave room above it for the string.

  2. Step 2: The string

From the patch's left side draw a big loose loop tipping up to the right, ending on its right side.

Tip The string goes behind the patch, like the elastic on a mask.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the top half of the patch draw 2 big egg eyes, a little gap apart.

  4. Step 4: Pupils and shine

Colour a big black dot in each eye, leaving a little white shine at the top.

  5. Step 5: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a line with a U under it for a smile. Add a cheek at each end.

  6. Step 6: A little star

Under the smile, near the bottom of the patch, draw a small five-point star.

  7. Step 7: Sparkles

Draw 3 little sparkles in the air: one at the top left and one low on each side.

  8. Step 8: Yellow star and sparkles

Colour the star and the 3 sparkles yellow.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks and mouth

Colour the cheeks and the mouth pink.

  10. Step 10: Navy patch

Colour the patch navy blue around the eyes, cheeks, mouth and star. Leave the eyes white. Arr, it's ready!
