How to Draw a Cymbal
Draw a cymbal in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cymbal.
Step 1: The cymbal
Near the middle of your paper draw a very wide flat oval, as wide as your hand.
Tip A cymbal is a flat metal plate, so the oval is very flat.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the oval draw 2 round eyes side by side. Add a black dot and white shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The dome and nut
On top of the oval, in the middle, draw half an egg bump. Add a tiny box on it.
Step 5: The stand pole
Under the oval draw a thin pole straight down: 2 lines close together. End with a small wider box.
Step 6: Three legs
From the box draw 3 thin legs: one slanting left, one slanting right, one straight down. Add small round feet.
Step 7: The inner ring
Draw a second flat oval inside the cymbal, near its edge, all the way round.
Step 8: Music notes
Draw a music note in the air above each end of the cymbal.
Step 9: Floor and shadow
Draw a floor line from left to right under the feet. Add a flat shadow oval round the feet.
Step 10: Gold cymbal
Go over your lines, then colour the cymbal and the dome gold yellow, leaving the eyes and cheeks white.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow grey around the feet. Crash!
Step 12: Grey stand, black notes
Colour the pole, the box, the legs, the feet and the nut slate grey, and the note heads black.
