11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a pennant in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flag pole.

Print

  1. Step 1: The flag pole

On the left draw a tall thin pole from near the bottom to the top. Add a ball on top.

  2. Step 2: The pennant

From the pole, just below the ball, draw a long thin triangle flag out to the right edge.

Tip A pennant is a long skinny triangle.

  3. Step 3: The band

A finger's width from the pole, draw a line from the top of the flag down to the bottom.

  4. Step 4: The star

In the wide part of the pennant draw a big 5-point star.

  5. Step 5: Trim lines

From the band draw a line along the top edge and one along the bottom. Stop well before the point.

  6. Step 6: Wind lines

Above and below the point draw 2 short wavy wind lines that do not touch the flag.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Under the pole draw a long ground line from the left side to the right side.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw a sparkle star left of the flag and a smaller one in the top-right corner.

  9. Step 9: Yellow star and band

Colour the big star, the band, the ball and both sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Grey pole

    Colour the pole grey.

  11. Step 11: Red pennant

Colour the pennant red, around the star and the band. Go over your lines and your pennant is flying!
