How to Draw a Hedgehog
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pointy face.
Step 1: Pointy face
On the left of your paper draw a big teardrop lying down. The point is the nose, on the left.
Tip Leave room on the right for the spiky back.
Step 2: Nose, smile and eye
Draw a black ball nose on the tip. Add a little smile and one big round eye.
Step 3: Spikes and ear
Start on top of the head. Draw a rainbow curve back with 6 spikes, then stop. Add a round ear.
Step 4: Round back
Start where the curve stopped. Draw a big dome over the back and under the tummy, up to the chin.
Step 5: Spiky back
Start after the sixth spike. Draw a zigzag of spikes along the dome, down to the bottom.
Tip Every spike sits on the dome line, never floating.
Step 6: Near legs
Start under the chin, draw a short stubby leg and paw, stop on the tummy. Add one at the back.
Step 7: Far legs
Behind each leg draw another leg peeking out. Start on the tummy and go down to the ground.
Step 8: Toes and ground
Give each near paw 2 short toe lines. Draw a ground line under all the paws, from edge to edge.
Step 9: Inner quills
Inside the spiky back draw a row of 5 short lines leaning back.
Step 10: Pink ear and cheek
Colour the inside of the ear pink. Add a pink blush on the cheek under the eye.
Step 11: Tan face and tummy
Colour the face, ear, tummy and near legs tan, around the pink. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Brown coat
Colour the spiky coat and the far legs brown, around the ear.
