How to Draw a Workbench
Draw a workbench in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bench top.
Step 1: The bench top
Across the middle of your paper draw a long flat box, almost edge to edge, 2 fingers tall.
Tip Leave room above for tools and below for legs.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes in the middle of the bench. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Two legs
Under each end of the bench, start on the bottom and draw a thick leg down to the ground.
Step 5: The shelf
A little above the ground, start on the left leg and draw a thin shelf across to the right leg.
Step 6: Ground
Draw the ground line across the paper, level with the bottom of the legs.
Step 7: A hammer on top
Draw a hammer on the left of the bench: a box head across the end of a long handle.
Step 8: A vise
On the right draw a vise: a flat base, 2 jaws with a thin gap, a handle bar poking left.
Step 9: Wood grain
Near each end of the bench top, draw a wavy grain line.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, blue vise
Go over your lines, then colour the 2 cheeks pink and the vise sky blue.
Step 11: Grey hammer, tan handle
Colour the hammer head grey and its handle tan.
Step 12: Wood bench
Colour the bench top, legs and shelf wood brown, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. All done!
