How to Draw a Knight Helmet
Draw a knight helmet in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dome.
Step 1: The dome
Above the middle of your paper draw a big round dome like an upside-down bowl. Close it underneath.
Tip The dome is wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Face guard
Start at the dome's left corner. Draw straight down, round the chin, back up to the right corner.
Step 3: Neck guard
From chin corner across to chin corner, draw a neck guard with a band. Add ground lines to each edge.
Step 4: Eye slit
Across the face guard, below the brow, draw a long thin slit with rounded ends, like a flat pill.
Tip The eye slit is what makes it a knight's helmet.
Step 5: The plume
From the dome top, curve a plume over to a point. Come back to the dome with soft bumps underneath.
Tip Add 2 short feather lines inside the plume, starting where 2 bumps meet.
Step 6: Breathing holes
Under the eye slit draw a row of 4 little round holes, and a row of 3 below them.
Step 7: Rivets
Along the top of the face guard, just under the dome, draw 4 tiny round rivets.
Step 8: Yellow rivets, grey steel
Colour the rivets yellow. Colour the dome and face guard grey, around the rivets, slit and holes.
Step 9: Red plume
Colour the plume red, from the dome top all the way out to its tip.
Step 10: Slate neck, black slit
Colour the neck guard slate grey, and the slit and holes black. Your knight's helmet is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a knight helmet, drawn by you.
