How to Draw a Laundry Basket

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a laundry basket in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the basket.

Print

  1. Step 1: The basket

In the lower middle draw a tall tub, a little wider at the top than the bottom.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Along the top draw a flat band a little wider than the tub. Add a flat oval at each end.

  3. Step 3: 2 big eyes

On the tub draw 2 big egg eyes side by side, almost touching. Colour a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small flat oval cheek at each end.

  5. Step 5: A folded towel

On the right, above the rim, draw a soft flat box for a towel. Add 2 stripes near one end.

  6. Step 6: A T-shirt

Draw a shirt heap from the left rim to the towel. Hang its sleeve over the rim, with a cuff.

  7. Step 7: A sock

Hang a sock over the rim on the right, with a top band, a heel and a toe pointing right.

  8. Step 8: Air slots

Down each side of the tub draw 3 long thin slots, one under the other, the same on both sides.

  9. Step 9: Floor and shadow

Draw a floor line under the tub from left to right, and a flat oval shadow round its bottom.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles

Draw 3 little sparkle stars around the basket, 2 up high and 1 on the right.

  11. Step 11: Yellow sock, pink towel

Go over your lines. Colour the sock and sparkles yellow, the cheeks pink, and the towel pink around the sock.

  12. Step 12: Sky basket

Colour the tub and rim sky blue around the sock, sleeve and cheeks. Leave the eyes, holes and slots white.

  13. Step 13: Red shirt, grey shadow

Colour the shirt and its sleeve red, and the shadow grey. Your laundry basket is full!
