How to Draw a Saucepan
Draw a saucepan in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the lid.
Step 1: The lid
Draw a wide flat oval lid above the middle. Add a knob on top, starting and stopping on the lid.
Tip A saucepan is a deep pot with 1 long handle.
Step 2: The pot
From each end of the lid draw a line down, a hand-width long. Join the bottoms with a smile curve.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the pot draw 2 big egg eyes, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: Lid rim
Just under the lid draw a curve from the left side to the right side, bowing down.
Step 5: The long handle
Start on the right side of the pot, below the lid. Draw a long straight bar out to the right.
Tip Make it as long as the pot is wide.
Step 6: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek out beside each eye.
Step 7: Hole and rivets
Draw a tiny circle near the end of the handle. Add 2 tiny dots where the handle meets the pot.
Step 8: Steam
Above the lid draw a wiggly line rising up on each side for the steam.
Step 9: Shadow and stove
Under the pot draw a flat oval shadow, then a stove line out from each side of it.
Step 10: Pink and grey
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow light grey.
Step 11: Red saucepan
Go over your lines. Colour the pot red around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey lid and handle
Colour the lid, the knob and the long handle dark grey. Your saucepan is bubbling away!
