How to Draw a Potion
Draw a potion in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the round flask.
Step 1: The round flask
Start left of the middle. Draw a big round flask open at the top, stopping just right of the middle.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the flask draw 2 big eggy eyes, close together. Add black dots with shines.
Step 3: A big smile
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from one eye to the other, with the ends turning up.
Step 4: Neck and lip
From each end of the opening draw a neck line up to a flat oval lip, 2 fingers higher.
Step 5: The cork
Draw a cork: start on the lip, go up, round over the top, and back down to the lip.
Step 6: The potion line
Above the eyes draw the potion's top: a gentle wavy line from one side of the flask to the other.
Step 7: Bubbles and shine
Low in the potion, away from the face, draw 3 little bubbles. Add a curved shine inside the left edge.
Step 8: Sparkles and a table
Draw a table line touching the flask's bottom. Add 3 four-point star sparkles by the neck, 2 right, one left.
Step 9: Sky glass, tan cork
Lightly colour the neck and the glass above the wavy line sky blue. Colour the cork tan.
Step 10: Cheeks and sparkles
Give the potion 2 rosy pink cheeks under the eyes, beside the smile. Colour the sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Purple potion
Colour the potion purple below the wavy line, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes and bubbles white. All done!
