How to Draw a Wooden Door
Draw a wooden door in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the door.
Step 1: The door
In the middle draw a tall door: 2 long lines up, a rainbow over the top, and a flat bottom.
Step 2: The stone frame
Round the door draw a bigger arch for the frame, from the ground up and over, down to the ground.
Tip The frame is a thumb's width outside the door all the way round.
Step 3: The step
Under the door draw a flat step: a thin wide box sticking out past the frame on both sides.
Step 4: Three planks
Draw 3 lines straight up the door, evenly spaced, for the planks. The middle one goes highest.
Step 5: A round window
High on the door draw a small round window with a line across it and a line down it.
Step 6: Two strap hinges
On the door's left edge draw 2 long hinges pointing in, like flat arrows, with 3 bolt dots on each.
Step 7: Knob and keyhole
On the door's right draw a tall plate, a round knob, and a black keyhole under it.
Step 8: A lantern
Start on the frame's left. Draw a short bracket out, stopping in the air. Hang a little lantern under it.
Tip The lantern is a box with a pointy top and a teardrop flame inside.
Step 9: A pot plant
Beside the step, level with its bottom, draw a flower pot with a rim and 3 pointy leaves growing up.
Step 10: Ground and mat
Draw the ground line edge to edge. On the step draw a flat mat, wider at the bottom.
Step 11: Stone frame and step
Colour the frame, step and pot stone grey, and the hinges, knob plate and lantern roof slate grey.
Step 12: Red mat, green leaves
Colour the mat red and the leaves green. Leave the window white.
Step 13: Wooden door
Colour the door wood brown around the window, hinges, plate and mat, and the flame yellow. All done!
