How to Draw a Wizard on a Broom

Draw a wizard on a broom in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Step 1: Egg head
Near the top, a little left of the middle, draw an egg head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room above for the tall hat and below for the broom.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head, draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, a tiny U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Moustache and beard
Under the nose, draw a curly moustache. Add a big U beard, cheek to cheek, down to the chest.
Step 4: Tall pointy hat
Draw a brim across the head. Above it draw a tall cone with a floppy tip. Add a star.
Step 5: The robe
From behind the beard, draw the robe: a round back down to the seat, then legs hanging in front.
Tip He is sitting, so the robe bends like a chair.
Step 6: Sleeve and fists
From under the beard, draw a wide sleeve reaching forward. Add a round fist at its end and one just behind.
Step 7: Two shoes
Under the hem, draw 2 shoes peeking out, toes pointing forward.
Step 8: The broomstick
Draw a long thin broomstick. It runs through the fists and behind the robe, and pokes out at the back.
Step 9: Bristles
On the back end of the stick, draw a bundle of bristles, narrow at the stick and wide at the end.
Tip Add a tie line and 2 bristle lines.
Step 10: Clouds and stars
Under the broom, draw 2 little clouds with 3 bumps and a flat bottom. Draw 2 small stars.
Step 11: Yellow stars, peach skin
Colour the 3 stars yellow and the face and fists peach. Leave the eyes, beard and moustache white.
Step 12: Purple hat and robe
Colour the hat, robe and sleeve purple, around the star on the hat.
Step 13: Brown broom
Colour the stick and shoes brown and the bristles tan. Go over your lines. Your wizard is flying!
