How to Draw a Dad
Draw a dad in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head. Leave room below for a long body.
Step 2: Eyes and brows
Just below the middle, draw 2 oval eyes with a black dot in each. Add a short brow over each.
Step 3: Nose, smile and ears
Add a small U nose and a smile. Each C ear starts and stops on the side of the head.
Step 4: Short hair
Start on the left of the head. Draw hair over the top, stopping on the right. Add a side-part hairline.
Step 5: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 short neck lines. From them, draw a shirt with short sleeves, back to the neck.
Step 6: Collar and tie
Draw a pointy collar flap on each side of the neck. Under it, draw a knot and a long tie.
Step 7: Arms and mittens
From each sleeve, draw an arm with a soft elbow, round a mitten and thumb, back up to the sleeve.
Step 8: Trousers and belt
Start at the bottom left of the shirt. Draw 2 long trouser legs, back to the right. Add a belt.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Under each leg, draw a rounded shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red tie, blue shirt
Colour the tie red. Then colour the shirt blue around the tie.
Step 12: Grey trousers, brown shoes
Colour the trousers grey, and the hair, belt and shoes brown. Dad is done!
