How to Draw a Wizard Hat
Draw a wizard hat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall cone.
Step 1: The tall cone
Start below the middle. Draw a line up to a point near the top, then down the back, stopping level.
Tip The point flops over a bit, like a sock.
Step 2: Bottom of the cone
Start at the bottom of the front line. Draw a gentle smile curve across to the bottom of the back.
Step 3: The wide brim
Start on the left of the cone. Swing a big wide oval out, under, and round to the right side.
Step 4: Thick brim
Drop a short straight line down from each end of the brim. Join them with a big smile curve underneath.
Tip Keep the gap the same all the way round.
Step 5: Two big eyes
Low on the cone, draw 2 big round eyes a finger apart, with a black dot and shine in each.
Step 6: Smile and cheeks
Draw a deep U smile from under one eye to under the other. Add an oval cheek on each side.
Step 7: The ribbon band
Start on the left of the cone, 2 fingers up. Draw a sagging curve across and stop on the right.
Step 8: Stars and a moon
Above the eyes, draw 2 little 5-pointed stars and a tiny crescent moon. None of them touch the eyes.
Step 9: Twinkles and a table
Draw a 4-point twinkle at the top right and a smaller one on the left. Add a table line below.
Step 10: Red band, yellow stars
Colour the ribbon band red, and the stars, moon and twinkles yellow.
Step 11: Colour the hat blue
Colour the cheeks pink, then the hat blue around the band, stars, moon and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
