How to Draw a Party Hat
Draw a party hat in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cone.
Step 1: The cone
From a point near the top, draw 2 long lines slanting down and out, and stop at the same height.
Tip Tall and thin, like an upside-down V.
Step 2: The bottom
Start at the bottom-left end. Draw a smile across to the bottom-right end, to close the cone.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the cone, draw 2 big eyes one eye apart, with a big black dot and shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a U smile, narrower than the eyes. Add a small oval cheek out beside each end.
Step 5: The pompom
On the tip of the cone, draw a round pompom that covers the point.
Step 6: Stripes
Draw 2 close slanted lines across the top of the cone, and 2 more across the bottom, for 2 stripes.
Step 7: Dots
Draw 3 little dots in a row along the bottom, between the lower stripe and the curved bottom.
Step 8: Confetti
Draw confetti round the hat, away from its lines: 2 dots and 2 tilted squares.
Step 9: Sparkles
Add a sparkle star on each side of the hat, away from the confetti.
Step 10: Yellow pompom and stripes
Go over your lines, then colour the pompom, the 2 stripes and the sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Sky hat
Colour the cone sky blue, going around the yellow stripes. Leave the eyes, dots and cheeks white.
Step 12: Red cheeks and confetti
Colour the cheeks and the confetti red, and your party hat is ready!
