10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a wisteria in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the climbing vine.

Print

  1. Step 1: The climbing vine

Start low on the left. Draw a thick vine up, bending over and across the top, thinner at the tip.

Tip The flowers will hang down from the vine.

  2. Step 2: The longest bunch

From the middle of the vine, draw a short stalk down. Hang a long bumpy bunch ending in a point.

  3. Step 3: Two shorter bunches

On each side, draw another short stalk down from the vine. Hang a shorter bumpy bunch on each.

  4. Step 4: Petal rows

Across the long bunch, draw rows of little U petals, each row from one side dent to the other.

  5. Step 5: More petal rows

Draw the same rows of little U petals across the 2 shorter bunches.

  6. Step 6: Pairs of leaves

Along the vine, draw 4 pairs of pointed leaves. Each pair opens like a V.

  7. Step 7: Ground and grass

Start near the left edge. Draw a ground line past the vine's foot to near the right edge. Add grass.

  8. Step 8: Green leaves

    Colour all the leaves green.

  9. Step 9: Purple flowers

Colour the 3 hanging bunches purple.

  10. Step 10: Brown vine

Colour the vine brown, and your wisteria is done!
