How to Draw a Seed
Draw a seed in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the seed.
Step 1: The seed
In the middle draw a big seed like a fat teardrop standing on its round end, narrow at the top.
Tip Bigger than you think: this seed is the star.
Step 2: Stripes
Draw 3 long bowed lines down the seed from near the top to near the bottom, like a sunflower seed.
Step 3: A little shoot
Start at the top of the seed and draw a tiny stem, 2 close lines stopping a short way up.
Step 4: 2 baby leaves
On top of the shoot draw 2 small round leaves, one leaning left and one right, like a little V.
Step 5: The soil
Start on the left, low down. Draw a soft hill of soil behind the seed and stop on the right.
Step 6: A small seed
In front of the mound on the right, draw a smaller seed standing on the ground, with 2 stripes.
Tip Rub out the soil line inside the little seed.
Step 7: Pebbles
On the mound draw 3 little pebbles like small sideways eggs, 2 on the left and one on the right.
Step 8: Ground and grass
From each end of the mound draw the ground line out to the edge. Add 3 grass blades each side.
Step 9: Tan seeds, grey pebbles
Go over your lines, then colour both seeds tan and the 3 pebbles grey.
Step 10: Green shoot
Colour the shoot and its 2 baby leaves leaf green.
Step 11: Brown soil
Colour the soil brown around the seeds and pebbles.
