How to Draw an Aloe

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw an aloe in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pot rim.

Print

  1. Step 1: The pot rim

Low on your paper draw a wide flat pot rim, as wide as your hand and a finger tall.

  2. Step 2: The pot

Start under the rim near the left end. Go down leaning in, across, and back up to the rim.

  3. Step 3: The middle leaf

Start on the middle of the rim. Draw a tall thick leaf up to a sharp point and back down.

  4. Step 4: Two more leaves

From the rim draw a shorter leaf leaning out left and one leaning out right, tucked behind the middle leaf.

  5. Step 5: Leaves further out

Draw another pair from the rim leaning further out, shorter again and curving outwards.

  6. Step 6: The outside leaves

Draw the last pair from the rim curving right out to the sides, the shortest of all.

  7. Step 7: Middle lines

Inside the 3 middle leaves draw 1 line up from near the rim, stopping short of the point.

  8. Step 8: The table

Draw a long straight table line along the bottom of the pot, sticking out on both sides.

  9. Step 9: Green leaves

Colour all 7 leaves green, right to their points.

  10. Step 10: Ginger pot

Colour the pot and its rim ginger brown. Go over your lines and your aloe is done!
