How to Draw a Hyacinth

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a hyacinth in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the flower tower.

Print

  1. Step 1: The flower tower

In the top half draw a tall bumpy egg, like a cloud. Start and stop at its bottom.

Tip A hyacinth is a tower of tiny flowers, so it is bumpy all round.

  2. Step 2: The stalk

From the bottom of the tower draw 2 lines close together, straight down to near the bottom of your paper.

  3. Step 3: Top flowers

Near the top draw 3 little flowers, each a ring of 6 round bumps: 1 on top, 2 below.

  4. Step 4: Bottom flowers

Below them draw 4 more little flowers: 1 in the middle, 2 at the sides, 1 near the bottom.

  5. Step 5: A long leaf

From the bottom of the stalk draw a long thin leaf leaning up to the left, like tall grass.

  6. Step 6: Another leaf

From the bottom of the stalk draw a second long leaf leaning up to the right.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw a long ground line from the left edge to the right edge, along the bottom of the stalk.

  8. Step 8: Grass blades

Start on the ground beside the stalk. Flick 2 little grass blades up on each side.

  9. Step 9: Green stalk and leaves

Go over your lines, then colour the stalk and both leaves green.

  10. Step 10: Purple tower

Colour the bumpy tower purple, going around the little flowers so they stay white. Your hyacinth is done!
