How to Draw a Calla Lily
Draw a calla lily in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stem.
Step 1: The stem
Start near the bottom in the middle. Draw a tall stem up past the middle, thinner at the top.
Step 2: The funnel
On top of the stem draw a wide funnel flaring up and out. Join the lips with a smile curve.
Tip Like an ice-cream cone with a smiling rim.
Step 3: The curled top
From the left lip swing up to a tall point on the right, then down to the right lip.
Tip The point leans over like a wizard's hat.
Step 4: The yellow finger
Standing up out of the funnel draw a thin finger with a round top, poking above the rim.
Step 5: A fold
Draw a soft curve up the left side of the funnel, from near the stem to the left lip.
Step 6: Two leaves
From the bottom of the stem draw a big pointed leaf leaning left, and a smaller one on the right.
Step 7: Leaf veins
Draw 1 long vein line up the middle of each leaf.
Step 8: Ground and grass
From left to right draw a soft ground line. Add 1 pointed grass blade under each leaf.
Step 9: White flower, yellow finger
Go over your lines, then colour the flower white and the finger yellow.
Step 10: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem, both leaves and the 2 grass blades green, and your calla lily is done!
