How to Draw a Winter Landscape
Draw a winter landscape in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big hill.
Step 1: The big hill
Near the bottom of your paper draw a big round hill: start low on the left, curve over, stop right.
Tip Keep both ends inside the paper.
Step 2: A hill behind
Start low on the big hill's right slope. Draw a smaller round hill behind, stopping level with its feet.
Step 3: The ground
Under the hills draw a long straight ground line from the left edge to the right edge.
Step 4: A tall fir tree
Start a tall fir tree at a point above the left slope: 3 tiers, a trunk down to the hill.
Tip Each tier starts on the bumpy bottom of the one above.
Step 5: The sun
In the top right corner draw a round sun as big as a plum, with 8 short rays around it.
Step 6: A cabin
On the right slope draw a cabin, pointy roof, square window. Arch a door from the bottom back to it.
Step 7: Snow bumps and chimney
Add snow bumps on the roof and tiers. Start a chimney on the roof and end on it. Add smoke.
Step 8: Snowflakes
In the sky draw 4 snowflakes: 3 crossing lines with a little V on each end, and 2 dots.
Step 9: Snowy white hills
Go over your lines, then colour both hills white like fresh snow.
Step 10: Yellow sun, blue window
Colour the sun yellow and the window sky blue.
Step 11: Green tree, wood trunk
Colour the fir tree green and its trunk wood brown.
Step 12: Wood cabin, red roof
Colour the cabin walls wood brown around the window, and the roof and chimney red. Your winter landscape is done!
