How to Draw a Star

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a star in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top and arms.

Print

  1. Step 1: Top and arms

Start left of the middle. Zigzag to an arm, a tall top, another arm, then stop under it.

  2. Step 2: Bottom points

From under each arm, draw a long point down and back up to meet in the middle.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the star, draw 2 BIG eggy eyes side by side, with black dots and shines.

  4. Step 4: Big smile

Under the eyes, draw a big wide U smile from eye to eye, with the ends turning up.

  5. Step 5: Rosy cheeks

Beside the ends of the smile, draw a small sideways oval cheek under each eye.

  6. Step 6: Little stars

Draw 3 small 5-point stars around the big one: top left, top right and lower right.

  7. Step 7: Cloud top

Start low on the left. Draw 5 round bumps behind the star's 2 bottom points, ending low on the right.

  8. Step 8: Cloud bottom

Start where the bumps ended on the right. Draw 3 shallow bumps back under to meet the start.

  9. Step 9: Yellow stars

Colour the big star and 3 little stars yellow, around the eyes, smile and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  10. Step 10: Pink cheeks

Colour the 2 cheeks rosy pink. Leave the cloud white.
