How to Draw a Crystal Cluster
Draw a crystal cluster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: rocky base.
Step 1: Rocky base
Near the bottom draw a wide, low rock with a flat bottom and a bumpy top made of straight lines.
Tip Leave lots of room above it for the crystals.
Step 2: Tall crystal
From the middle of the rock draw 2 long lines straight up. Join them with a pointed tip.
Step 3: Leaning crystals
Beside the tall one draw a shorter crystal leaning left and one leaning right, each with a pointed tip.
Tip Keep the 2 long sides of each crystal the same distance apart.
Step 4: Small crystals
At each end of the rock draw a small crystal leaning far out, tucked behind the bigger ones.
Step 5: Facet lines
On the 3 big crystals, draw a line from the tip to the shoulder, then down to the rock.
Tip Keep it right of the middle so one face is wide and one is thin.
Step 6: Small facet lines
Draw the same bent line on the 2 small crystals, from the tip down to the rock.
Step 7: Shiny stripe
On the wide face of the tall crystal draw a thin stripe with rounded ends. This is the shine.
Step 8: Two sparkles
In the sky on each side of the tall crystal draw one little sparkle with 4 points.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line under the rock, sticking out past each end.
Step 10: Light blue faces
Colour the wide face of every crystal light blue, around the white stripe.
Step 11: Grey rock, yellow sparkles
Colour the rock grey and the 2 sparkles yellow.
Step 12: Dark blue faces
Colour the thin face of every crystal dark blue. Go over your lines. Your crystal cluster is done!
