How to Draw a Mars Helicopter
Draw a Mars helicopter in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: little body.
Step 1: Little body
In the middle of your paper, draw a small rounded box for the body.
Tip The Mars helicopter is tiny: a lunchbox with enormous blades.
Step 2: Round face
In the body, draw a round face circle nearly filling it.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
In the circle, draw 2 round eyes, each with a black dot and a shine. Add a small smile.
Step 4: Mast and panel
Draw a fat mast from the body to a flat panel. Add an antenna with a dot on the side.
Tip Make the panel wider than the body.
Step 5: Lower rotor
Low on the mast, draw a round hub. From it, draw 2 long thin blades, slanting like a seesaw.
Tip The blades are huge: longer than the body is wide.
Step 6: Upper rotor
Just above, draw another hub with 2 long blades slanting the other way, so they cross like scissors.
Step 7: Four legs
From the bottom of the body, draw 4 thin legs slanting down and out, each ending in a round foot.
Step 8: Ground and rocks
Draw a ground line under the feet, edge to edge. Add 2 bumpy rocks, each starting and ending on it.
Step 9: Hills and sun
Draw wavy hills from each side edge to the body. Add a small sun up high.
Step 10: Yellow sun, orange hills
Colour the sun yellow and the hills orange, around the legs and rocks. Leave the face and eyes white.
Step 11: Red ground, brown rocks
Colour the ground red, from the ground line down to the bottom. Colour the rocks brown.
Step 12: Grey helicopter, navy panel
Colour the helicopter dark grey, around the face, and the panel navy. Your Mars helicopter is done!
