How to Draw a Winter Hat
Draw a winter hat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the folded cuff.
Step 1: The folded cuff
Below the middle of your paper draw a long fat band with rounded ends, like a sausage lying down.
Tip The cuff is the folded-up bottom of the hat, so it is thick.
Step 2: The round dome
Start on the cuff near its left end. Draw a big dome up and over, stopping near the right.
Tip The dome is nearly as tall as it is wide.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the dome draw 2 big egg eyes one eye apart. Add a dot with a shine.
Step 4: The pom-pom
On the very top of the dome draw a fluffy ball made of little bumps all the way round.
Step 5: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 6: Ribs on the cuff
Draw short lines down across the cuff from top edge to bottom edge, evenly spaced like fence posts.
Step 7: Stripes and zigzag
Above the eyes draw 2 gentle smile stripes across the dome, side to side, with a zigzag between them.
Step 8: Snowflakes
Draw 4 little snowflakes around the hat: 3 short lines crossing at one point, like a star.
Step 9: Sky snowflakes
Colour over the snowflakes with a sky blue crayon, so they turn into thick blue stars.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks rosy pink.
Step 11: Red hat, white pom-pom
Colour the dome and cuff red, around the cheeks. Leave the band, pom-pom and eyes white. Your hat is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a winter hat, drawn by you.
