How to Draw a Winking Face
Draw a winking face in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big soft egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Make it big, nearly two thirds of the page tall.
Step 2: Two ears
Each ear starts and stops on the side of the head, like a C. Add a smaller C inside.
Step 3: Eye and wink
Draw one big oval eye on the left. On the right, draw a little rainbow for the wink.
Tip The wink is just a rainbow where the other eye would be.
Step 4: Nose and big grin
Between the eyes, draw a tiny U nose. Under it, draw a wide grin that curls up at each end.
Step 5: Eyebrows
Draw a short rainbow eyebrow above each eye. The one above the wink sits a bit higher, as if lifting.
Step 6: Hair cap
Start on the left by the ear. Draw soft round tufts over the top and stop at the right ear.
Tip Soft bumps like little clouds, not spikes.
Step 7: Hairline
Start at the same left point. Draw a gentle curve across the forehead and stop at the right point.
Step 8: Neck and shirt
Under the chin, draw 2 short neck lines. From each one, draw a shoulder sloping out. Add a U collar.
Step 9: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, the ears and the neck peach around them. Leave the eye white.
Step 10: Green shirt
Colour the shirt green.
Step 11: Black hair
Colour the hair black. Go over your lines and your winking face is done.
