How to Draw Eye Shapes

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw eye shapes in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round eye.

Print

  1. Step 1: Round eye

In the top left quarter of your paper, draw a big circle about as wide as your fist.

Tip 4 eye shapes share the page: one in each quarter.

  2. Step 2: Round iris and pupil

Inside the circle, draw a smaller circle in the middle, with a black dot in it. Leave 2 white shines.

  3. Step 3: Almond eye

In the top right, draw an almond eye with pointed ends. Curve a lid fold just above, a bit shorter.

  4. Step 4: Almond iris and pupil

Inside the almond, draw a circle in the middle, a black dot pupil and a white shine top left.

  5. Step 5: Happy closed eye

In the bottom left, draw a closed eye: a thick rainbow, starting and ending as wide as the eye above.

  6. Step 6: Lidded eye

In the bottom right, draw an almond eye with iris, pupil and shine. Add a thin lid corner to corner.

  7. Step 7: Eyebrows

Above each eye, draw a leaf eyebrow, thick in the middle and pointed at both ends.

  8. Step 8: Peach lid, blue iris

Colour the thin lid peach and the iris under it blue. Leave the eye white.

  9. Step 9: Brown and green irises

Colour the round iris brown and the top almond iris green. Leave the eye whites white.

  10. Step 10: Brown eyebrows

Colour all 4 eyebrows brown. Go over your lines and your eye shapes are done.
